Mark Hughes, speaking through Talk Sport, has confirmed reports from the last week or so that said that Stoke City were interested in West Brom striker Saido Berahino.
Hughes has addressed this to the media by declaring his side’s interest in the 23-year-old that has had the most ridiculously long and unnecessary transfer saga in history.
Hughes did say, though, that negotiations hadn’t really moved in the last week, and that could mean that the mooted swap between West Brom and Palace could be happening instead of this.
He also goes onto say that the club are looking for players that can help them in the long and short term, and Berahino should certainly be good for both of those scenarios due to his young age.
Stoke need to find young players like this to build with. They just have to make sure that they have the right attitude when they come in to the club. We’ve seen that Berahino can be a handful to manage, so Hughes will have to be at his best to wrangle him if he’s able to bring him in.
