Liga MX Veteran Likely Headed Abroad

According to ESPN Mexico, defender Gerardo “Jerry” Flores could be on his way out of Liga MX for the first time in his career.  The 30 year old veteran played the recent apertura season with Toluca, on loan from Cruz Azul.

Flores put in some good performances and even scored a goal for Los Diablos, but it seems he is unwanted by both Cruz Azul and Toluca for the clausura season.

Neither team, nor any other Liga MX squad, made a deal with Flores during the recent draft, meaning he is currently a free agent.

He was allowed to train with Toluca for a short while following his release, but now is working out on his own. Jerry likely will be headed up North to bolster an MLS squad for the 2017 season.

Flores’ training shows he is eager to get back on a squad and compete, so there is little doubt that he will still be available by the end of the window.
