Manchester United full-back Cameron Borthwick-Jackson will join Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers on a season-long loan deal, according to Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

The report claims Borthwick-Jackson has agreed to spend the season on loan at Wolverhampton, where he’ll play under legendary Italian goalkeeper Walter Zenga.

The talented left-back, who made his first-team debut for United last season, is yet to feature under Jose Mourinho.

He did very well last season and is rightfully regarded as one of the biggest talents at the club.

However, with Luke Shaw back from his horrendous injury, Borthwick-Jackson is unlikely to get many chances to play in the first team this season.

The 19-year-old needs regular first-team football in order to continue his progress and a potential move to Wolverhampton would be a good career choice.

The Championship club was sold to a Chinese conglomerate earlier this summer and the new owners are believed to have close ties with Jorge Mendes, which would explain Mourinho’s decision to sanction the deal for Borthwick-Jackson.

Borthwick-Jackson is more than good enough to make an impact at an ambitious Championship club like Wolverhampton and Zenga’s guidance would be highly beneficial for his development as a player.
