West Bromwich and West Ham are interested in signing Manchester United left-back Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, according to Italian website Tuttomercatoweb.

The report suggests the 19-year-old defender will leave the club on loan this summer.

Borthwick-Jackson, who made his first team debut last season and went on to make 14 appearances for United in all competitions, has been at Old Trafford for the entirety of his career so far.

The talented teenager showed a lot of promise last season, but now that Luke Shaw has returned to full fitness, it’d be better for Borthwick-Jackson to spend some time on loan in order to get valuable game-time.

West Bromwich would be a much better move for Borthwick-Jackson than joining Slaven Bilic’s side.

Tony Pulis needs to strengthen his defensive options this month and could do with a new left-back.

Pulis had to play Jonny Evans at left-back in their 1-0 Premier League win at Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Borthwick-Jackson would get plenty of game-time at The Hawthorns, but if he decides to move to the London Stadium instead, he’d probably spend the majority of his loan spell on the bench.

West Ham’s best left-back, Aaron Cresswell, could be out for up to four months with a knee injury, but Bilic acted quickly and signed Arthur Masuaku from Olympiacos last week.
