Fresh off the signing of star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Manchester United are now willing to offer a £100 million, £250,000 a week, contract for Juventus central midfielder and French international Paul Pogba, according to British news source Express.co.uk.
The current transfer record stands at £84m when Wales international Gareth Bale moved from Tottenham to Real Madrid, but United management have reportedly told Juventus they are ready to break it.
Pogba joined Juventus after only one season at Old Trafford in 2011-12, and since moving to the Serie A, he has managed 34 goals in 178 appearances, helping his club secure four consecutive titles and three cup trophies.
The Italian side are asking for such a high-price for the talented Frenchman that Manchester City, Real Madrid and PSG have all given up hope.
The midfielder’s father Fassou Antoine Pogba spoke to the media recently, saying that his son wants to play in a better league.
If the record-breaking deal does go ahead, it will be clear that United are willing to outspend their opponents in an effort to rejoin the European elite.
