Spanish media outlet Fichajes claims Barcelona is pursuing Chelsea’s Juan Cuadrado. The 28-year-old is seen as a potential replacement for Barca’s Dani Alves and Aleix Vidal, who could leave Barcelona this summer.

Juan Cuadrado was a big flop at Chelsea and was loaned out to Juventus last summer. Contrastingly, he has been very effective for Juventus and has appeared in as many as 41 games for them this season. The Colombian has revived his form, which he lost at Chelsea due to sparse playing time.

Cuadrado played a crucial role in Juve’s squad this season and was Massimiliano Allegri’s first choice. His attacking ability is the main reason why the side from Catalonia are interested in throwing the net over him.

Luis Enrique has set his eyes on Cuadrado because Dani Alves is considering a move to Serie A Champions Juventus, claims Goal. The Brazilian has one year left in his contract with the Spanish side, but a clause in his contract enables him to leave for free with a year in hand. Luis Enrique’s second choice, Aleix Vidal, is frustrated over sparse playing time and is also considering a move away from Barcelona.

The transfer will not involve a long push and pull game, because it is understood that Chelsea are no longer interested in keeping Cuadrado, whereas Barcelona has very few choices in the transfer market for Alves’ replacement.
