This Saturday Manchester United beat Crystal Palace 2-1 in the FA Cup Final.
The thrilling, well-paced game was forced into overtime thanks to an immediate comeback goal by Juan Mata after Puncheon scored for Crystal Palace. As everyone started to tire towards the end, and with Manchester United playing a man down, Jesse Lingard stepped up to the plate and gave the team a showstopper goal that put them in the lead.
Manchester United fans in the stands were celebrating the win even before the game was over, and Jesse Lingard was rushing over to the sidelines and swinging his shirt around in victory, an act that earned him a yellow card.
The last cup they won was in 2004 against Millwall, and Manchester United’s win Saturday, 12 years later, means that they currently hold the record for the most FA Cup wins with 12 cups under the belt.
