Ramires, the former Chelsea midfielder, revealed that he quit Chelsea due to a stressed relationship between him and the interim manager Guus Hiddink. In an interview with The Sun, Ramires accused the Dutchman of not giving him a fair chance and benching him for no reason. “One of the big reasons I left Chelsea was the arrival of new coach”, he said.
The Brazilian joined Jiangsu Suning in a £25million deal, which marked an end to his five and a half season long career at Chelsea. Ramires enjoyed significant playing time under Jose Mourinho, with whom he had a nice relationship, but things changed for him after Guus Hiddink took over, starting only 1 game under him. Consequently, the situation lead to the departure of Ramires from Stamford Bridge.
Ramires isn’t one of the most technically gifted players, but his maturity made him Mourinho’s go-to man. The midfielder showed reliability and strength of character while playing for the Blues. Nevertheless, the Brazilian insists that he still has a soft spot for The Blues because it’s the Club which made him the player he is today.
