PSG winger Lucas Moura, revealed why he decided to stay with the French team, in spite of the massive interest expressed by Manchester United over the Summer transfer window.

Moura explained why he snubbed Manchester United, “I want to make history. I feel that I can win the Champions League with PSG”. The Brazilian is implying that he has a better shot at winning the Champions League with the French side, rather than on Louis van Gaal’s team.

Moura went on to say, “But it is not only the club, but also life in Paris which is fantastic. That’s why I want to stay here long”. Again, Moura implying that Paris is a better place to live in than Manchester.

It is clear that the prolific winger has made up his mind, both because he feels PSG is a better squad, and because Paris itself is, according to the Brazilian, a better place to live in.

Now that the Brazilian has signed a 4-year contract with PSG, any links to Manchester United have been severed. Nonetheless, the reasoning he rejected Manchester United over the Summer is interesting, showing that some players might not regard Manchester United as the pinnacle of football, which it was certainly regarded as in the SAF era.
