Police in London are looking for three men accused of hurling coins at England international Theo Walcott during The Gunner’s 2-0 win over Spurs in the FA Cup third-round tie earlier in January. The 24-year-old Arsenal winger was pelted with coins by the said men, as he was carried off on a stretcher after sustaining a knee injury during the North London derby at the Emirates on January 4.

Stewards and medics from St John Ambulance were also hit by the coins as they went past the Tottenham fans. In reply, a smiling Theo Walcott trolled the away fans by making a ‘2-0’ gesture with his hands as a way of reminding them of the score line.

The pictures of the three suspects were released by the Scotland Yard on Monday and the Force had this to say: “During the match, an Arsenal player on a stretcher, medical staff carrying him and stewards were stuck by coins and other missiles thrown at them from a section of the crowd occupied by Tottenham fans.”

The force went on to point out that as a result of minor injuries on both the player and the stewards during the incident, investigations had been launched and the three men have been identified. Although the suspects are yet to be arrested, the Football Association confirmed that they would back the harshest punishment possible for the three, including life bans.

Theo who suffered a ruptured knee ligament in the derby is out for the rest of the premier league season and will astoundingly miss the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
