Manchester United striker, Javier Hernandez, is being linked as a possible replacement for Monaco’s Radamel Falcao, according to The Mirror. Falcao suffered a terrible ACL injury this past Wednesday and will be out for several months; Monaco are looking for a proven striker that can come in and take over Falcao’s position.

After the report earlier in the week that Chicharito wants to leave Manchester United, the rumors about his move have started to appear. Hernandez barely gets any playing time at Manchester United; Chicharito has only made 14 Premier League appearances, and a total of 23 appearances when all other competitions are taken into account (5 League Cup games, 1 FA Cup match, & 3 Champions League games).

With the World Cup quickly approaching, Hernandez wants to play for a team that will give him regular playing time, in order to improve his chances of featuring in Mexico’s World Cup squad. Chicharito is usually the third or fourth choice for the striker position at Manchester United, so you would have to think that he would be more inclined to join a team where he would be the first or second choice.

Manchester United might also be interested in selling Chicharito to Monaco, given that they need to recoup part of the 45 million Euros they spent on the Mata acquisition. Furthermore, given that Hernandez is not a member of the regular starting XI, his absence would not be too severe for Moyes’ squad.

Although Hernandez has also been linked with Inter Milan, the fact is that he still has over two and a half years left on his contract, and Manchester United would not let him go to any other team unless they receive a fair price (or a decent loan offer). The question is, will that offer come within the next five days?
