Soccer has steadily climbed in popularity in the US due to several factors: a strong national league, ample television coverage of most major soccer leagues, semi-successful USMNT and very successful USWMNT appearances in their respective World Cups. And I’m sure there’s plenty of other factors, but I’ll leave that for another article.
