The Daily Express have broadcasted the words of Russian agent Sandor Varga speaking about the future of Spartak Moscow forward Quincy Promes.
One of the best players in Russian Premier League over the last couple of seasons has been approached by the EPL side Southampton this winter. According to some reports, the Saints have seen their £30million offer rejected by the Russian giants.
Varga has reportedly urged the 26-year-old winger to refuse a move to St Mary’s Stadium in order to earn a potential transfer to Liverpool.
“For Promes, it doesn’t make sense to switch to Southampton now,” Varga told Russian outlet Sport-Express.
When asked if Promes would be better suited to a move to Anfield, Varga added: “Maybe, yes. He must go to a club that fights for titles or the European Cup. It’s not great to play for a lesser team, especially in England.”
The former Twente star is known for his devastating pace and excellent ball control, combined with powerful striking abilities.
Jurgen Klopp will have to invest some money next summer, as he has already lost Philippe Coutinho, and Emre Can also seem on his way at the end of the season.
Promes could be an exceptional reinforcement for the Reds, considering his game style that fits perfect to Klopp’s tactic.
