Paul Merson has predicted that Tottenham will win their game against Manchester United on Wednesday.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be looking to bounce back from their recent FA Cup draw against Newport County. Meanwhile Alexis Sanchez could be handed his Premier League debut for United during the game.
United are currently in second place on the League standings and Spurs are in fifth position with eight points separating the two sides.
Spurs are currently facing a difficult run of fixtures with Liverpool and Arsenal up next in the League and they will need to win as many of the games if they want to keep alive their chances of qualifying for the Champions League next season.
Despite this, Merson feels that Spurs defence will be too strong for United on the day.
Merson said: “This will be a difficult game for them because I just can’t see how they will outscore Spurs.
“Jose Mourinho will go to Wembley and set his side up not to get beat. With Alexis Sanchez on board that little bit of extra quality gives them a big chance but if Tottenham can get their full strength side out they’ll be very difficult to stop.”
