Late Rangers exit reportedly on the cards after club turned down £5.3million offer

As per The Scottish Sun, Chinese Super League outfit GZ Evergrande FC have tabled a £6.5million bid for Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos, and the Light Blues could cash in if they are able to land a replacement before Wednesday deadline.

GZ, managed by World Cup winning Italian-defender Fabio Cannavaro, already submitted a £5.3million offer that was knocked back by the Ibrox board, but they showed how serious they were about having the 21-year-old Colombian hitman by improving the opening bid pronto.

Morelos has caught the eyes since firing his way to the top of the Scottish Premiership goalscoring charts with 13 strikes following his £1.1million arrival from HJK Helsinki last summer.

An exit this coming summer had always been on the cards, but the tempting offer from the Far East could force Rangers into considering an early payday, as it could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Morelos is also attracting English Championship clubs, but none submitted an offer that convinced Rangers, and it’s hard to see any return with something close to £6.5million by summer.
