According to reports, Aston Villa are interested in midfielder Samuel Bastien from Italian Serie A club Chievo Verona.
Ed Aarons, who is the deputy news editor of Guardian Sport made the claim on his personal Twitter account that the Championship club are keen on recruiting the 21-year-old along with the Premiership duo of Huddersfield and Bournemouth.
Bastien has started to make more regular appearances for Chievo recently and is a member of the Belgium under-21 side.
However Villa do have many options in midfield and considering that he lacks experience at the highest level, it would be a gamble to sign him at this stage.
Considering that Villa have yet to make an approach for Bastien, it is unlikely that they will sign him this month.
Should he be made available and continue his progress, there is a chance that he could end up joining a Premier League club such as Bournemouth or Huddersfield.
