Tottenham star Christian Eriksen has revealed that his club have held internal talks over the possibility of offering him a new contract.
“It’s up to the club whether they want to renegotiate or not,” the 25-year-old told TV3, as reported by Danish daily newspaper Berlingske.
“I know they have had a meeting and have talked together so that’s the right way. I’m happy at the club. There is nothing negative at all.”
Eriksen has become a key player for the Spurs first team and recent reports have suggested that the club could look into rewarding the Danish international with a new deal.
Eriksen’s current contract with the North London club still has two and a half years remaining but the former Ajax man revealed that he is keen to extend his stay with Mauricio Pochettino’s club.
This will certainly be good news for Spurs fans as Eriksen has become one of the most important players within the clubs first team. He went on to net the fourth goal of Spurs 4-0 win against Everton on Saturday as well.
