Celtic have been linked with a move for Schalke striker Franco Di Santo.
Di Santo had spells in England with the likes of Chelsea, Wigan Athletic and Blackburn Rovers and though he was unsuccessful, Hoops manager Brendan Rodgers feels that he has what it takes to succeed in Scottish football.
Di Santo is reportedly being lined up in the case that Moussa Dembele leaves the club this month.
Dembele has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs including Brighton and Crystal Palace and reportedly wants to leave Parkhead in order to boost his chances of being selected for the France squad that will play in the 2018 world cup.
For most of his career, the 28-year-old Di Santo has been seen as an average player by European standards.
He failed to find the back of the net from 16 appearances for Chelsea while he managed one goal in 24 appearances on loan with Blackburn Rovers.
He went on to score 13 goals in 92 appearances for Wigan while he has scored 29 goals in 119 games during his spells in Germany with Werder Bremen and Schalke.
