Leeds and Aston Villa reportedly to battle for goal-machine available for £7million

According to the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa and Leeds United are both looking to bring Peterborough United striker Jack Marriott.

The player is also being monitored by their Championship’ rivals Birmingham City. The same source says that the ‘Posh’ evaluation of the player is around £7 million.

Some reports suggest that Peterborough have already turned down three offers for highly-rated forward.

That said, it will be difficult for a League One team to keep their best player during the January transfer windows, as there are several potential buyers that would like to see Marriott within their ranks.

Leeds and Aston Villa have both set a new striker as their primary objective in January, as both clubs look for the Premier League promotion.

Thomas Christiansen wants to add some fire-power to his squad after unconvincing performances from Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Jay-Roy Grot, while Steve Bruce is having troubles with injured players, as both Jonathan Kodjia and Gabby Agbonlahor have physical issues.
