According to reports, West Ham are still interested in signing Alfie Mawson from Swansea City.
Hammers boss David Moyes is looking to recruit a new centre-back after losing Jose Fonte to injury in October.
The 23-year old Mawson joined the Swans in August 2016 from Barnsley and has gone on to establish himself as a key player for the club and he has since gone on to make 57 appearances for the club.
It is no surprise that chairman Huw Jenkins is reluctant to let him leave the club especially as they are performing poorly in the League and look like they are headed towards relegation.
Moyes is looking to bolster his squad this month in order to preserve their Premier League status.
“I would like to bring in one or two reinforcements, but every manager will tell you it’s not an easy time to do business,” he said in December.
“It’s also an expensive month. We’ll try and do it but there’s no guarantee.”
