According to reports, Sunderland are on the verge of wrapping up a deal to see them sign Liverpool youngster Ben Woodburn on loan.
Woodburn broke into the Reds first team last season and made headlines when he became Liverpool’s youngest ever goal-scorer after netting during an EFL Cup game.
He has however struggled to earn regular game time this season and would have been unlikely to play much during the second half of the season given that Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are all in good form.
Sunderland boss Chris Coleman will be hoping that Woodburn can help his struggling side to avoid relegation from the Championship this season.
Coleman was also the man who handed Woodburn his debut for the Wales national team in 2017 during a World Cup qualifier against Austria.
There is no doubt that this would have influenced the youngsters decision to link up with the Black Cats.
