According to a report published by The Sun, Liverpool have identified West Ham ace Manuel Lanzini as their number one target should Philippe Coutinho end up joining Barcelona during the January transfer window.
The Argentina international Lanzini has been one of the Hammers best performers this season and has so far scored one goal and contributed four assists from 14 Premier League games.
The Hammers will however not be keen on parting ways with Lanzini at this point in time, especially seeing that they are likely to face to face the threat of relegation.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is reportedly a fan of Lanzini and is willing to dish out the £40 million valuation which West Ham have placed on his name.
Considering Lanzini’s performances over the past two seasons, it is perhaps just a matter of time before he leaves West Ham and there is no doubt that the thought of playing for a club such as Liverpool will at least entertain him.
