Preston’s £500,000 bid for Josh Windass was instantly rejected by Rangers a couple of days ago but the Scottish Sun now reports that Preston’s manager Alex Neil will not give up on the signing talented midfielder.
Since his arrival from Accrington Stanley, Windass has managed to prove himself as a reliable and consistent player.
During the current campaign so far, he has been one of the best players in the league as he played 20 games in the Scottish Premiership, scoring 6 and assisting 5 times.
His excellent form attracted Preston’s interest because they desperately need a creative midfielder to improve their chances in the playoff race. The 23-year-old can play equally good as an attacking midfielder as well as on the wing.
Windass is a very important player for Rangers manager Graeme Murty though and he is not ready to surrender his star so easily.
Rangers will definitely give their best efforts to keep Windass, but if Preston raise their offer, the young prospect could easily move to the English Championship.
