Arsene Wenger has said that striker Olivier Giroud will be staying put during the January transfer window amid interest from West Ham and Crystal Palace.
Giroud has struggled to earn regular game time at the Gunners this season following the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette and recent reports have suggested that he could move away during the January transfer window in order to secure his place in the France squad for the 2018 World Cup.
The 31-year-old has not started a League game this season and has been restricted to cameo appearances.
Wenger however appears to have put paid to rumours suggesting that Giroud will be leaving his club and said: “Why should we lose an important player? I consider Olivier Giroud as a regular player.
“We have to be grateful that he is part of a great team and one who can come on and make a difference with the right attitude and ability.”
