Tottenham’s Ben Davies and Harry Winks have given the reasons for the club’s recent slump in form.
Davies said, “Of course it hamstrings you. It’s never ideal. At the start of the season, we were in the situation of playing well, getting early goals and it changes games for us, picks us up as a team. When you go behind, it’s a challenge to have to come back into the game and then try to win it.”
Winks added: “We need to try to avoid conceding goals in general. We’ve always been solid defensively and not conceded many goals but just lately it’s not going well for us. It’s important that we unite as a team, stay solid and work hard going forward.”
Spurs conceded yet another early goal this weekend as they played out to a disappointing 1 -1 draw against Watford this weekend.
Tottenham went behind within 15 minutes against the Hornets, meanwhile they also trailed inside four minutes during the game against West Brom last weekend while Leicester scored within 12 minutes as they fell to a 2 -1 defeat against the Foxes on Tuesday.
Spurs recorded notable wins this season against the likes of Liverpool, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund and all of these came when they had scored early.
