Everton FC are interested in signing Estoril defender Matheus Jesus with the intention of solving their problems at the back, according to HITC Sports.
Everton are currently struggling this season in every competition they have appeared in and upon closer look, many have suggested Toffees’ poor defensive record to be main reason for this.
The Merseyside club have conceded the second most number of goals in the Premier League this season, making the criticism of their backline justified.
In order to solve their problems at the back, Everton are in the market to sign upgrades in the position and are currently scouting Brazilian defender Matheus Jesus as a potential new signing.
Jesus currently plays for Santos, where he is on loan from the Portuguese side Estoril, and is impressing for the Brazilian giants and he has now caught the attention of Everton.
Everton are not the only team chasing the 20-year-old though, with the likes of Watford and West Ham also joining the race.
