Liverpool star Emre Can has said that Liverpool youngster Joe Gomez deserved his call up to the England national team.
Gomez was called up by Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate for the friendly internationals against Germany and Brazil.
This comes as a reward for the impressive performances which he has churned out for the Reds first team and also marked the first time in his career that he was called up to the senior side.
Gomez’s former club Charlton Athletic meanwhile are set to gain a windfall of £250,000 when he makes his first England start which was agreed upon when he joined Liverpool in 2015.
Can now believes that Gomez’s call up to the Three Lions was well-deserved. He said: “He has always played well, both at right-back and at centre-back. He deserves to play for the national team. I hope the others will go the same way.”
