Jamie Carragher explains why Harry Kane is still not world class

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has revealed that he thinks that Tottenham star Harry Kane is not as yet a World class player.

Kane is now considered to be one of the most feared strikers in World football after finishing as the top scorer in the Premier League during the past two seasons.

The 24 year old has also so far been impressive this season and has already scored 11 goals in all competitions for Spurs in all competitions.

The England international has also played a key role in Tottenham’s rise over recent years and has helped the club achieve successive Champions League qualification during the past two seasons.

Carragher is however one who does not believe that Kane cannot be considered to be World class just as yet.

He wrote in his column for the Telegraph: “Too many players are given this tag, but we should pause before handing out such lavish compliments. That is why I do not agree with those arguing Harry Kane is a world-class footballer. He isn’t. Not yet.

“My criteria for world class status are stricter than excelling in the Premier League, no matter how long Kane terrorizes defences domestically.

“By the end of this season Kane might tick both boxes. He has the credentials, but until such time becoming English football’s most talented footballer is not enough.”
