According to Scouts in Attendance, Newcastle, alongside a couple of Premier League sides, had representatives at Turkey’s 0-3 loss at the hands of Iceland during last Friday’s World Cup qualifiers.

A player the Toons’ scouts most probably kept eyes on during the game would have been Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun.
The £17million rated hitman has often expressed his desire to move to the Premier League, and a move next summer seems very certain.
Newcastle will attempt a shot at a top-half-of-the-table finish next term with safety all but looking guaranteed this term, and an upgrade on their current striking options will be needed in order to make that happen.
Tosun has been a proven goal threat in the Besiktas shirt, scoring 24 times in 47 appearances during the 2016-17 campaign.
At 26, the Turkey international is nearing his prime, and could prove to be a coup should Newcastle manage to beat other suitors to his signing.
The likes of Crystal Palace, Tottenham, Valencia and Inter Milan are also keen on Tosun’s services, so the Magpies have a big job on their hands as they go after his signature.
