Vincent Janssen has claimed that his loan move to Turkish club Fenerbahce was the “perfect solution” following his disastrous spell with Tottenham last term.
The Dutch international went on to only score six goals from 35 appearances in all competitions for the Lilywhites last season.
It became clear that Janssen was not in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans for this season following the arrival of Fernando Llorente at White Hart Lane during the summer transfer window.
Janssen then opted to join Fenerbahce on loan for this season in order to regain confidence in his abilities and start scoring goals again. The 23 year old has started off life well in Turkey after scoring twice in three starts.
The Dutch international feels that the loan move was the best thing that could have happened to him and has now said, “That [the move to Fenerbahce] was the perfect solution for me – a solution in injury time, but one I’m really happy with. It became concrete on a Thursday, and on Friday morning I sat on the plane at 7 o’clock.”
