Gary Lineker has revealed that he feels sorry for Celtic because of the tough group that they have been placed in in the Champions League this season.
The Hoops are looking to prove themselves in Europe after under-delivering for many years.
Lineker feels sorry for Celtic and said, “You feel sorry for Celtic here, that they have PSG and Bayern Munich in their group. Playing that sort of stuff in other groups might have seen them through.”
Despite having won the domestic treble unbeaten last season, the Hoops chances of progressing to the last 16 of Europe’s Premier club competition appear to be slim this season after they were placed in the same group along with Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Anderlecht.
After losing to PSG 5-0 two weeks ago, the Hoops showed resolve to claim a 3-0 victory over Anderlecht on Wednesday and they will be looking to surprise Bayern next month.
