Leeds United have confirmed that they have signed Oliver Sarkic on loan from Benfica until December 31.
The striker is set to link up with the clubs under-23 side which is managed by Spaniard Carlos Corberan.
The 20-year-old Sarkic has been on the books of Benfica since 2014 after arriving from Anderlecht and despite being a regular feature for the clubs B side, he never managed to establish himself within the clubs first team.
Sarkic will now be part of the Whites youth setup until the end of the year. It is likely that this will be used in order to gauge whether he is fit enough to don the jersey of the club’s first team.
Should the youngster manage to impress, it will be unlikely that he will be drafted into the first team soon considering that Kemar Roofe and Samuel Saiz are currently firing in goals but he is one to look out for the future.
