Young Tottenham defender Anton Walkes has revealed that he thinks that leaving the North London club in January was the best decision that he has made thus far in his career.
Walkes arrived at American club Atlanta United during the January transfer window. Prior to the move he had only 10 minutes of first team action under his belt at Spurs.
Since arriving at Atlanta, Walkes has been receiving regular first team opportunities in the right back position. This is likely to aide him in terms of his development as a player and give him more confidence on the pitch.
Whilst talking about his move to the MLS, Walkes was quoted by ESPN, “I think it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made so far. I’ve enjoyed every single moment, I’ve learned so much, so I am looking forward to the next stages.
“My expectations were high and what it has proved is just that it’s raised the bar even higher than I expected.”
