Match Preview

Queretaro is currently in 11th place with nine points, only a point off from making the top eight in the league. Los Gallos Blancos have been a very inconsistent side with on and off performances throughout the tournament. Manager Jaime Lozano has struggled to find a consistent goalscorer on the team which has been the main problem for Queretaro.

Something that has been a peculiar choice by Lozano has been starting Everaldo Stum, who has no goals over Camilo Sanvezzo, who has two goals in limited playing time. Los Gallos need to take the three points from this game but it will be difficult, even at home, where Queretaro has lost two out of its three games played at the Estadio Corregidora.

Leon is in a transitional phase with Javier Torrente now out of the club and Gustavo Diaz coming in as the new manager. The Uruguayan has been characterized for playing an enticing style of play, offensive with many passes that can definitely suit Los Esmeraldas. The reliance of club captain Mauro Boselli for Los Panzas Verdes has been immense as the Argentine striker has scored four of Leon’s last six goals.

Leon is currently in 15th place with only seven points and letting go of that reliance on Boselli will be a key to success for progression. The game seems to be a contested encounter heading into it with no clear winner and should be one to watch this Saturday.
