Xolos Tijuana vs Pachuca Match Preview

Xolos of Tijuana had a disastrous start to the season after losing their first three games while failing to score even once. Since that poor start, Eduardo Coudet‘s team tied against Puebla 1-1, but then defeated Santos Laguna 2-0 and Queretaro 3-1.

Club Tijuana has yet to find its best form, however the team has been more efficient on defense after switching from a four-man backline to one with five. This Friday the border team will have one of their toughest home games this season against the always difficult Pachuca, but a win at home will direct them toward a high position on the table and confirm the team’s good moment. It will also be good to note if new signing Juan Manuel Iturbe will make his debut just a week after arriving from Italy’s AS Roma.

Pachuca enters the game sitting in 5th place with 9 points after 3 wins and 3 losses. The team led by coach Diego Alonso had a terrible start to the season just like Xolos where they lost their first three games. In praise of their hard work, the ‘tuzos’ have won their last three to place them on a good place in the standings.

This Friday Pachuca will have many absences due to injury which may include players Erick Gutierrez, Erick Aguirre, Edson Puch, Angelo Sagal, and Jonathan Urretviscaya. This may allow star Keisuke Honda to make his first start in Mexican soccer.
