According to reports, Crystal Palace have made a £15 million bid for Tottenham defender Kevin Wimmer after being put off by the price tag of Mamadou Sakho.
Wimmer is seemingly surplus to requirements at Spurs and has indicated that he wishes to leave the club in order to play regular first team football.
Spurs have also signed Davinson Sanchez from Ajax in defence and are set to also soon reach a deal to sign Estudiantes youngster Juan Foyth.
Palace had been looking to sign Sakho, who helped them avoid relegation last season while on loan from the Reds for the second half of last season.
However the £30 million price tag on the Frenchman is said to have put Frank de Boer’s team off buying the player.
Palace may stand a good chance of recruiting Wimmer though they may face competition from the likes of West Brom and Stoke City.
