West Ham United captain Mark Noble has suggested that Javier Hernandez is not as yet match fit after watching the Mexican international in training.
The 29-year-old Hernandez joined the Hammers from Bayer Leverkusen last month for a fee believed to be in the region of £16 million and will be expected to spearhead the East London clubs attack this season.
Noble praised the new signings which manager Slaven Bilic has made but at the same time admitted that Hernandez is not as yet fully match fit.
He said, “We’ve brought in quality this summer. Chicha still needs to get match fit – he got a good 45 minutes on Friday and now we’ve got a good week of training at home before the first match.”
Bilic will certainly hope to have Hernandez at his best when his side takes on Manchester United in their first match of the upcoming Premier League season on Sunday.
