Celtic assistant manager Chris Davies has revealed that the Hoops are still trying to re-sign Patrick Roberts.
The 20-year-old Roberts had a successful 18 month loan spell with the Scottish giants during which he scored 17 goals from 60 appearances and also helped the club win the domestic treble last season.
Whether Roberts will end up joining Celtic will depend on whether Pep Guardiola sees him as part of his plans for the City first team next season.
Davies is confident however that a deal can be reached and said, “All I know is we value and rate the player and I am sure that if is right for everybody then something will be done, but we can’t really control that at the moment.
“There is constant dialogue really. He his playing for Manchester City so I can’t comment too much on it. All I can tell you from my side and speaking for the manager is how much we enjoyed working with him and the rest will take care of itself.”
The England under-20 international did play for the Citizens during their recent pre-season matches against Real Madrid and West Ham.
