According to reports, Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino will give Vincent Janssen one more season to prove his worth for the North London club.
Janssen arrived at Spurs last summer for £17 million and was expected to provide support and competition for Harry Kane.
He has however failed to justify his price tag thus far and scored just two goals in the Premier League last season, one of which came from the penalty spot.
The performances of the Dutchman last season led many to speculate whether he had what it takes to succeed in England and some fans even called for him to be offloaded this summer.
It now appears that manager Pochettino will give the 23-year-old one more season to try and prove himself before considering letting him go.
Janssen is still 23 and he can still develop as a player. It remains to be seen how he will perform next term.
