Following Director’s admission, Tottenham reportedly handed huge boost in their chase for 22-year-old

Tottenham have been handed a big boost in their pursuit of Hoffenheim right-back Jeremy Toljan, with The Evening Standard reporting that the Germany under-21 international can be snapped up for £3.1million this summer.

The director of football of the Bundesliga side Alex Rosen has now admitted that it would be near impossible for the youngster to reject a chance of joining Tottenham

He said, “If Tottenham come in and offer to treble Toljan’s salary, you cannot say: ‘London is an unattractive city or Tottenham are a bad club.’ This is all very positive, and then young people think about it.”

Toljan is in his final contract year at Hoffenheim and isn’t keen on extending his contract as he eyes a switch to a bigger club.

Portuguese powerhouse Benfica are also interested in landing the German defender, but he reportedly favours an EPL move.

Spurs have Kieran Trippier as the only recognizable right-back in their senior team following Kyle Walker’s £50million move to the Etihad Stadium, and are in dire need of a quality signing to help add depth to the position.

Toljan recently helped Germany to victory at the European Under-21 Championship having played every minute of the campaign, and going by his displays at the tournament, he has everything it takes to keep Trippier on his toes if a move materializes.
