New Celtic signing Kundai Benyu has revealed that he is looking to impress manager Brendan Rodgers and become a first team regular within the Celtic squad.
It had been suggested that Rodgers had been considering sending the 19-year-old Benyu on loan for the upcoming season, however the youngster’s display against Lyon during the weekend reportedly has convinced the manager to change his mind.
Benyu ,who will be eligible to represent England and Zimbabwe internationally, said, “I wasn’t sure if I was going to go out on loan but I have come here and worked as hard as I can so I’m happy to stay and fight for my place
“I would much rather be settled in Glasgow with the boys playing week in, week out.”
The youngster arrived from Ipswich Town this summer and while his opportunities next season may be limited, he will have to make the most of them in order to convince Rodgers that he can become a first team regular for the future.
