According to reports, Tottenham will pay the £22 million that is required to lure Ricardo Pereira, should Kyle Walker end up joining Manchester City.
The 23-year-old Pereira has spent the past two seasons on loan with Nice and is thought to have been suggested to the North London club by its head scout Steve Hitchen, who is a specialist in French football.
Should Walker go, Kieran Trippier will likely become the clubs first choice right back though they will need capable backup, which is where Pereira could fit in.
Though Kyle Walker-Peters played a key role in the England under 20’s World Cup winning campaign and is highly rated, he is not as yet ready to play first team football for Spurs on a regular basis – especially considering that he has yet to make a senior appearance for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Spurs are expected to lose Walker this summer to City for a fee in the region of £50 million.
