According to reports, Jordan Amavi’s move from Aston Villa to Spanish club Sevilla has been called off.
The defender was set for a £8 million move to the Spanish club after the two parties reached an agreement; however it has since been called off after he failed a medical.
The 24-year-old Amavi suffered a serious cruciate knee injury in 2015, which resulted in him being on the sidelines for nine months.
He returned to action last season and managed 36 first team appearances before being told that he would be allowed to leave the club this summer.
Sevilla are now reported to be looking at other options. There is no doubt that this news will come as a blow to Amavi.
He would have been hoping to leave England and link up with the La Liga side and it remains what will happen to him ahead of next season.
