Celtic center back Dedryck Boyata went down with an injury in a friendly with Slavia Prague earlier this week, and he is set to miss out on a good chunk of time according to reports in his homeland.
According to Beligan outlet Dhnet.be, the 26-year-old could be out for the next six weeks. This would pin his return around the 20th of August or so, meaning he could miss out on all of the Champions League qualifiers that Celtic might play.
And that is just assuming that the Hoops man is able to find full fitness then. The injury could be a big blow, but Celtic should have plenty in the bank to overcome Linfield. But then again, the same things were said about their chief rivals Rangers a couple of weeks back.
Celtic fans will be hoping that Boyata will be able to recover a little more quickly, but these things take time and patience and we’ll all just have to wait and see.
