Premier League club Burnley have completed the signing of Charlie Taylor from Leeds United. Taylor had been linked with a move away from Elland Road for a long time and this move comes as no surprise.
The 23-year-old Taylor’s contract with the Whites expired on July 1 and he turned down the opportunity to sign a new two year deal with the club.
Taylor made it known last summer that he wished to leave Leeds when he handed in a transfer request after turning down an opportunity to sign a new deal during the latter stages of last season.
He also made known his frustration to the club when he refused to play in his club’s final game of last term against Wigan Athletic. This resulted in him being fined two weeks wages.
Taylor is a product of the Leeds youth development system and after making his senior debut in 2011, he had gone on to make more than 100 appearances for the club.
