According to reports, Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is considering signing Alfie Mawson from Swansea and Ben Gibson from Middlesbrough to replace Kevin Wimmer.
Wimmer failed to earn regular game time with Spurs last season and has been linked with moves to Southampton as well as to Germany.
The 24-year-old’s time with the North London club looks to be all over and Spurs are said to be demanding £20 million for him.
Despite the struggles of their respective teams, Mawson and Gibson performed impressively in the Premiership last season and both have been linked with Spurs.
Mawson played a key role in helping Swansea avoid relegation. Though Gibson also played impressively, his club Middlesbrough were relegated and there is a strong chance that he will be joining a new club ahead of next season.
Both defenders will likely cost a hefty £25 million each but Spurs do have the cash to spend.
