Former Arsenal forward Paul Mariner has advised West Ham United against signing Jack Wilshere.
The Hammers have been linked with a move for Wilshere as they look to bolster their side ahead of next season.
According to popular bookmakers Paddypower.com, the East London club are also currently favorites to sign the England international with odds off 6/4.
Wilshere, who was once heralded as the future of English football, has shown signs of brilliance however he has had his career curtailed by injuries.
Mariner has now advised Slaven Bilic’s side against signing Wilshere and said, “If I am West Ham, I am not buying Jack Wilshere until I see him kicking a ball and running and playing first-team football. It’s too risky.”
The 25-year-old spent last season on loan with Bournemouth as his chances of first team football at the Gunners looked slim. He is currently recovering from a fractured fibula which he sustained last season.
