West Ham United and Liverpool are two of the clubs that are interested in signing Benfica star Raul Jimenez according to reports.

The Mexican international Jimenez is currently Benfica’s club record signing, having arrived from Atletico Madrid in 2015 for £18.9 million.

He showed his quality during the recent Confederations Cup, helping Mexico reach the semi-finals of the competition and even scored during his country’s 2-1 victory over New Zealand.

Jimenez currently has 12 goals internationally and managed to find the back of the net 11 times last season. He was previously a target for West Ham and was reportedly on the verge of a transfer to the club when he left the Rojiblancos but is said to have overslept and missed his medicals.

Despite this, the Hammers are said to be still interested in the 26-year-old as the look to improve their attack following a disappointing season.
