Tottenham Hotspur are set to start the 2017-18 season without the services of Eric Lamela, whose hip injury will keep him out of action at least until October. Lamela has been out injured since October 2016 when he picked up an injury soon after an EFL Cup game against Liverpool.
Following operations on both hips in April and in May, Lamela has been ruled out for another 12 weeks.
Lamela is a key player for Spurs and this news will come as a blow to them as they look to challenge for major trophies next season.
Thus far during his time at the North London Club, Lamela has bagged 19 goals from 119 matches in all competitions. He, however, made just 12 appearances before suffering his injury last season. The new news means that Lamela will return to action after having not played for a year.
