According to reports, Newcastle United are considering a surprise move for West Ham goalkeeper Adrian this summer.

The Magpies are looking to strengthen their goalkeeping options ahead of next season after Mats Sels, Karl Darlow and Rob Elliott all occupied the first choice position during various stages of the competition, without being able to adequately convince that they are long term options.

Though Tim Krul has returned to St James Park following loan spells with Dutch clubs Ajax and AZ Alkmaar, he looks to be a shadow of the keeper that he once was and has been linked with a move to Belgian club Anderlecht.

Adrian was impressive for West Ham during the 2015-16 season and helped the club win an impressive seventh place finish in the Premier League.

Though he won back the first choice position towards the latter stages of this past season, Adrian served mainly as backup to Darren Randolph.
